Two under par performers.
Alexander Downer stands accused of treating Parliament and tax-payers, with contempt after revelations he skipped a sitting to play golf with former deputy prime minister Mark Vaile.
On just the third day of the new Parliament, former foreign affairs minister and Mr Vaile thumbed their noses at colleagues and their constituents by heading to the lush fairways of the Royal Canberra Golf Club.
While the two long-serving Howard ministers soaked up the summer sun on Valentine’s Day, their colleagues battled to hold the Government to account over its appointment of former Victorian premier Steve Bracks to head a review of the car industry.
Parliamentary documents show that just after 9am on February 14, Mr Downer and Mr Vaile were absent from three votes in the House of Representatives.
The depleted Coalition would have lost the votes anyway since the Government easily has the numbers but the blatant shirking of the pair’s duty role has upset and angered their Liberal and Nationals colleagues.
The revelations come after The Daily Telegraph this week busted Mr Downer skipping Question Time to dine with a journalist.

“that there are some people on earth who are so wicked and so evil that nothing can be done but to confront them.”

Let's hope that voters at the inevitable by election in Mayo take Dolly Fishnet's advice.
*Thinks* Wonder what odds I can get from Hyacinth Bucket's turf accountant that Mark, Dance of the Seven will soon be seen schmoozing away at the nineteenth hole with a few of his head hunter chums from the AWB?
